Today, the Lord had put it in my heart to share with us on what I title, "What role are you playing as the chosen?" Certainly, this isn't a question for me to answer, it's something we should ponder upon and decide for ourselves, to play our roles according to our post.
Jesus according to the book of Luke chapter six from verse thirteen to sixteen, had twelve chosen disciples amongst many other called disciples. The difference was that these twelve were chosen, and that earned them a post each as apostles, which also had attachment of responsibilities. A significant person took my attention in verse sixteen, one who played a role that will be accepted as against the post of an apostle:
"St. Luke 6:13 And when it was day, he called unto him his disciples: and of them he chose twelve, whom also he named apostles;"
"St. Luke 6:16 And Judas the brother of James, and Judas Iscariot, which also was the traitor."
Who Is A Traitor?
In one word, a traitor is a deceiver, betrayer, revolter, to mention but a few. He or she is one who disregards their trusts and give their trusters to their enemies. He or she can as well be a contradictor or violator of the common interest of a community or his or her allegiance to a group.
Amongst the twelve, Judas Iscariot became a traitor of Jesus Christ, though to the fulfilment of the prophecy, but couldn't it be someone else? It's a matter of choice.
You are believed to be "...a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:" (1 Peter 2:9).
The question is, "What Role Are You Playing As The Chosen?" Are you showing forth the glory of the one who called you out of darkness into light? Or are you playing a contradictory role to that which you have been called or chosen to? Judas Iscariot was called and chosen to be an apostle but ended up with a traitor's role.
Beloved, consider your role as the chosen, is it advancing the ministry or is it breaking the rules of the ministry? When your role is breaking the rules, it means you are contradicting the goal or reasons of which you were chosen.
